My Commitment to you
“I commit to being a councillor who listens, engages, speaks on your behalf, and acts on the priorities that matter to Ward 1 residents. Responsible growth doesn’t mean no growth—it means growth that serves us, protects our neighbourhoods, and gives everyone a voice in decisions that affect our home. That’s my promise to you.”
- Darrin Drouillard for Ward 1
A proud, lifelong resident of Ward 1
I’ve called Tecumseh home since 1973. I grew up on St. Pierre Street, attended St. Pius X and St. Anne’s, and learned early the value of hard work, community, and giving back.
After working in Windsor, Kitchener, and Montreal, I chose to return home to Tecumseh to raise my own family.
My two children grew up here, went to local schools, worked local jobs, and learned—just as I did—the importance of contributing to our community.

Why Should you elect Darrin?
I'm running for Ward 1 Councillor because I have been actively involved in council meetings and public consultations, speaking on issues that matter to residents:
• Opposed “4-units-as-of-right” due to infrastructure concerns
• Advocating for responsible zoning that protects neighbourhoods
• Defending residents’ rights and quality of life. Speaking out against lodging homes in single family residential zones, and the push to over densify Tecumseh.
Tecumseh Legion Branch 261
Current Chair of Col Paul Poisson Brach 261. Long time member and supporter of our local Legion, Veterans and our Remembrance Services here in town. You may have seen me up at the podium if you've ever attended one of the services at the Cenotaph.
35th Tecumseh Scout Group
40+ years of volunteer experience as a Scouter, Leading youth on adventures and community service . I've been a Beaver Leader, Cub Leader, Scouter, and Venturer Advisor. I sit on the Group Committee and assist in fund raising efforts for the group.
Tecumseh Awards Review Committee
I chaired the committee responsible for sifting through nominations and awarding the Dr. Henri Breault Community Excellence Award, Donny Massender Memorial Volunteer Award, as well as Senior and Youth of the year. I feel that it is important to recognize those who give back to our community
Community Events
I can always be found lending a hand at events like Corn Festival, Taste of Tecumseh, Turkey Bingos, or others. If the community is involved then you will find me there.
My family continues to live in Ward 1, and I remain deeply connected to this community.
A Voice you know
You may know me if you’ve ever been to the Friday night Meat Draws at the Legion in town, as your MC (the one without the bad jokes) Through my involvement with the Parent’s Camping Club of Tecumseh, we have raised thousands of dollars to send youth to camp, raised funds to support the local Legion, and bring awareness to Scouting in Tecumseh.
A Voice you can trust
In recent years, I have actively participated in council meetings and public consultations, advocating on behalf of Ward 1 residents. I spoke against the proposed “four-units-as-of-right” policy, citing infrastructure and parking concerns, and have continued to voice concerns regarding the new town-wide zoning by-law—particularly the inclusion of lodging homes in residential zones and restrictions affecting residents’ use of their own properties.
Policy Positions: Responsible Growth & Zoning
Responsible
Growth
Support development that serves Ward 1 residents, not external investors. New projects must contribute to our community infrastructure and respect neighbourhood density.
Smart
Zoning
Zoning decisions must align with community feedback, not predetermined by planners. Transparent processes where residents have real input on changes to their neighbourhood.
Protecting Neighbourhoods
Ward 1's charm comes from tree-lined streets and single family homes. Growth should enhance, not erase, what makes our neighbourhoods distinctive and livable.
Have questions about Ward 1 priorities? Want to volunteer? Or just want to chat about the neighbourhood? I'd love to hear from you.
